Brendan Adams, Doug Harvey, Jimmy Carter Feature Winners

June 28, 2003 - Hard racing was the name of the game last Saturday, as Brendan Adams won a caution filled Limited Late Model feature. Adams managed to hold off a determined Lambert Yake, with "hard charger" Chris Morrow coming up from mid pack for third spot. Ron Quesnelle held on for fourth and Ron Lethbridge grabbed fifth. 6 cautions flew during the event, mostly due to close pack racing throughout the field - bent sheet metal, but no serious incidents. A few new cars out, as John Bell had his 7x Avenger on track along with veteran Don Jacobson with his trademark blue number 21. Jacobson had a good run, finishing 8th in a field of 19 cars.

In Thunder car action, "Hat Trick" Doug Harvey had a stellar night with wins in the feature and both his heats - this should certainly help him move closer to first in the points. With 2 heat wins and a fourth in the feature last week, it is obvious he has his Monte Carlo dialed in. Harvey didn't drive away from the field though - he was hounded by a tenacious Mark Adams who made a solid run in second spot. Ernie Fumerton, Amanda Connolly and Frank Davey filled out the top five. Mark Zacchigna's luck ran out this week, as a hard crash on the backstretch put him behind the wall about mid-way through.

Jimmy Carter pulled off his second straight feature win, racing up through the field from 10th spot. Once he got the lead, he never looked back. A huge battle shaped up for second place, with Mike Carson (in a Mazda 323) challenging Rob Snow for second. For the last 3 laps, they swapped position several times until Carson grabbed the spot for the checkers. Snow also had a good run for third. Ted Edwards held on for fourth, and Mario Poulin grabbed fifth. Carson and Poulin were both working hard on their cars at last Wednesday's practice session, and it shows in their great finishes - good work guys.

The Hurricane Midgets also ran on Saturday, with Jeff Ruddy taking both his heats and the feature. The kids also had a blast with their bicycle races on track. Special thanks to The Sargeant Company for their support of the night's events.

4 Cylinders and Limited Late Models on the back stretch last Saturday.
