Quesnelle, Zacchigna, Deasy Feature Winners

August 16, 2003 - Early morning showers laced with thunder once again brought doubt to the weather for this past Saturday, but as happened last week the skies cleared and gave way to a great night of racing. Limited Late Models, Thunder Cars, Four Cylinders, Hurricane Midgets and School Buses filled an action packed evening to a huge crowd.

Ron Quesnelle has had a number of great runs this year, and finally backed it up with a solid feature win. Traffic was tight up front, and a few early cautions caused by some slower traffic changed around the running order. Quesnelle was fast from the start, and it was only a matter of time before he took Ron Lethbridge and Ron Tracey on the high side for the lead. Tracey looked to be the car to beat, but some type of problem slowed his Fine's Home Hardware sponsored car and took him out of the race. Ken Bemrose started fourth, but was caught up in an early incident. He went to the back, then all the way to the front again to claim second spot. Dan Robb made a bonzai move on the outside in the last two laps, getting past two cars to get third. Chris Morrow and Brendan Adams finished fourth and fifth.

The Thunder Cars had a great feature as well, with Mark Zacchigna working through traffic from eleventh to pick up the win. Frank Davey had a few good breaks and managed a solid second place. Amanda Connolly, Mark Adams and Rob Poole completed the top five. Tyler Liscum, driving the 47 car normally driven by Rob Morrison, actually finished third but a technical infraction disqualified him from the race.

Bob Deasy grabbed his fifth Four Cylinder feature in a row, coming through traffic on the outside from eighth. Jimmy Carter had a harder time dealing with traffic, but eventually made it through and got to Deasy's bumper for second before running out of time. Darren Lloyd had another solid night in the quick Rabbit, only loosing one spot in the starting order to get third. Rob Snow and Aaron Martyn got fourth and fifth.

Jack Swanston had a solid run in the Hurricane Midgets, starting mid-pack and winning the feature. And Frank Davey once again proved that size DOES count, and grabbed a solid School Bus feature! A big thanks goes out to Fine's Home Hardware in Shelbourne for sponsoring the night's festivities.
