Chris Morrow - 2003 Late Model Champ

Chris Morrow came into tonight's event 15 points ahead of second place contender Ron Quesnelle and managed to yet again hold off the challenge. This is Chris' sixth championship in only seven years of racing, with a "double" in 1998 (Sunset and Barrie). This was a hard earned one though, as he was up against one of the toughest fields of cars he's faced in his career.

The Morrow team has "struggled" to some degree with handling, but consistent finishes have been the key to their successful season. A total of 6 heat wins and no features doesn't accurately show the strength of this talented team. With only one mechanical failure early in the season, the 22 car has been solid each and every week and tonight it all paid off.

Among the many important sponsors who have supported this effort, Chris would like to thank Dean Bell and the boys at CRS (Contractors Rental Supply) for their efforts - they have been with this team since Chris started racing and their support is greatly appreciated. Also a big thanks goes to his crew: Terry Wolfenden (Crew Chief), Jerry Calhoon, Craig Pearsall, Laurie Melson. And a special thanks goes to his dad Bob, his friends and his supporters who helped make this happen.

Congratulations Chris!
