Jimmy Carter - 2003 Four Cylinder Champ

September 20, 2003 - Jimmy Carter came into Saturday's event with a lock in the championship points, but that didn't lessen his drive for victory one bit - Jimmy won the feature too!

Jimmy has been racing since he was 18 years old, starting out at the famed Pinecrest Speedway. Jimmy put the racing on hold for a number of years then got back into it in 1985 right here at Sunset. Since then he has also raced Peterborough, Barrie, Varney and Cayuga. Unbelieveably, through all these years, this is his first ever championship. Certainly a great way to go out, as Jimmy announced this would be his last year of racing earlier this season.

Jimmy would like to thank the following:
- H
is Crew Chief Dean Jacksch (pictured to the right) for all the hard work and support - the 80 car wouldn't be where it is now without him.
- His wife Helen, for all the patience and help throughout the season.
- One On One Automotive for all their support.
- Last but not least, all the fans and supporters who have encouraged Jimmy and sent the great messages.

Also a special hello to Ken, Diana and the kids in Calgary (possibly Jimmy's biggest fans).

Congratulations Jimmy - you drove a heck of a season!
