Frank Davey - 2003 Thunder Car Champ

September 20, 2003 - It was a touch-and-go night for Frank Davey, with mechanical gremlins on the final night of racing helping add drama to a close points race. Frank would prevail, capturing the 2003 Thunder Car Championship.

Frank has been racing full time for 5 years, and he's definitely made his mark on the Central Ontario short track scene. In that time, he has never finished worse than second in the final points standings. Three of those years were raced here at Sunset and the other two at Barrie Speedway, with one championship at each track. He also was the Thunder Car tech here at Sunset in the early 90s before deciding to don the racing helmet. This Camaro is the first car Frank has built completely from scratch, and it certainly proved it's worth over the course of this championship season.

Frank would like to thank Annette and the kids for their patience and support throughout the season. 400 Auto Wreckers has been a big supporter of the effort, as well as Mark Dean from G Fuels and Mickey from Bradford Print Shoppe.
