Great weather welcomed a full pit of drivers and a packed grandstand on Mac Master Buick GMC night. With Sauble Speedway drivers sweeping the first 3 features at their home track and they looked to do the same at Sunset Speedway on July 13. The Graham Landscape Limited Mini Stock division would be first to hit the track. Sauble Speedways #71 Gary Jones (Jones Tool and Machine Volkswagen Rabbit) would be fast qualifier for the nights even winning both heat races. He would roll an invert of 4 putting fellow Sauble driver #17 Kevin Bridge (Huroniaview Insurance/Spira Fire Protection Honda CRX). Bridge would take advantage and jump out the early lead with Sunset’s #33 Warren Paxton(Blue Mountain Honda/CB services Honda Civic) following along in second. Paxton wouldn’t hold onto second for long as #82 Billy Schwartzenburg (Chetty’s Hot Sauce/Spira Fire Protection Ford Mustang) would work his way past. But there was not catching Bridge. The Graham Landscape Limited Mini Stock Feature would run flag to flag. Schwartzenburg would come home second, Paxton 3rd, #64 Brandon McFarren (Peter D. Laird Transport Ford Mustang and #26 Ben Melenhorst (Automotive Business School of Canada Nissan 240sx) would round out the top 5.

The Super Stock feature would see Sunsets #72 Randy ‘The Rocket’ Rusnell (Marvin Freiburger & Sons Heavy Truck Repair Chevrolet Monte Carlo) would be fast qualifier and roll an invert of 6. This would start #27 ‘Killer’ Kevin Albers (Wastco/Assante Financial Management Chevrolet Camaro) on the pole. His starting position wouldn’t be held long as #76 ‘The Prodigy’ Cayden Lapceivch (Tim Horton’s/Troy Cove Marine Toyota Camry) would take advantage of his 2nd starting position would need only 2 laps to jump to clear Albers for the Lead. Sauble Speedways #00 ‘Smokin’ Joe Adams (Peter Thompson Moving and Storage/Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Chevrolet Impala SS) would move quickly from his 4th starting position into the runner up spot. Adams would have company as Rusnell would follow him threw the pack. The two would run nose to tail and by lap 10 would reel in Lapcevich. Just as Adams would make his move for the lead the Caution would fall as #28 Paul Maltese (Presto Appliance and Repair/Mothers Against Drunk Driving Chevrolet Monte Carlo) would go for a spin in turn 4. On the restart Adams would make quick work of Lapcevich and bring #46 ‘The Thrillbilly’ Lane Zardo (Holmes Foundation/National Exhaust Chevrolet Monte Carlo) with him around Lapcevich bouncing Rusnell back to the 3rd spot. Caution would fall again on Lap 15 for Rookie #83 Johnny Morrison (Radical Rod, Rides and Restoration Chevrolet Nova) would suffer a flat tire. The green flag wouldn’t be out long as #25 Nicole Johnson(New Roads Chevrolet Monte Carlo) would spin in turn 4. When the race did get going again Zardo would give Adams all he could handle for the next several laps before Adams started to pull to an advantage. Zardo would then have his hands full with Rusnell as Adams would check out and bring the 00 across the line first followed by Rusnell, #36 Ken Grubb (Besters Forest Products Ford LTD), Zardo and #07 Dan Archibald (Labar Distribution/Steve’s Towing Monte Carlo). Adams would celebrate in Mac Master Buick GMC victory lane and a sweep of the Home and Home series winning both legs of the event.

A full field of 26 Limited Late Models would be led to green by #11 ‘Mr. Excitement’ Chris Morrow (Contractor Rental Supply/Advanced Landscape Chevrolet SS) after Fast Qualifier #51 Mike ‘Lights Out’ Bentley (Latitude Land Effect Chevrolet SS) would roll a 4 on the invert. Morrow would jump the early lead followed by Defending Champions #47 ‘Stompin’ Tom Walters (Pro Floor Sanding and Refinishing/Knightworks Design Ford Mustang) would slide in behind Morrow on the start. #48 ‘The Bully’ Dwayne Baker (Centennial Chrysler/Zancor Home Dodge Charger) and Bentley would battle early. Bentley would appear to catch the wall off of turn 2 on lap 2. Bentley would eventually clear Baker for the 3rd position. Walters would play me and my shadow with Morrow as Bentley would slowly make gains on the lead pair. A close call for the leaders as Walters would get inside Morrow working lapped traffic the leaders would run into a wall of lapped traffic as #8 John Mitchell (Rockstar Energy Drinks Chevrolet SS) #00 Brian Wilson Jr (Smurfs Towing Chevrolet SS) and #9 Peter Koevoet (GW Contracting) car would run 3 wide in front of the leader into turn 1 with Keovet spinning Wilson Jr. Evasive manoeuvers by the leaders allowed them to sneak through. On the restart Baker would get back by Bentley for the 3rd position. Bentley’s car seemed to develop some issues and the current Sunset co-points leader would pull his car pit side. On lap 21 Walters would get under Morrow and the two would battle side by side for the next several laps before Walters would clear Morrow. As they crossed the line it would be Walters, Morrow, Baker, #46 Billy ‘Z3’ Zardo (Hassel Automotive/Better Contracting Chevrolet SS) and #19 Jason ‘Bam Bam’ Witty (Carrot Express/Queensville Sod Chevrolet SS) would round out the top 5.
