1) Drivers Permitted:
Anyone who has not raced in a division above Four Fun or who has written
approval from Sunset Speedway
2) Cars Permitted,
STOCK:
a) 1993 and older 2
& 4 door sedans, hatchbacks & wagons
b) must be automatic
transmissions unless listed otherwise and be
4 cylinders max., no
turbos, superchargers or DOHC
c) -Chev: Cavalier,
Celebrity, Chevette (standard permitted), Corsica,
Geo Metro (3
cylinder,standard permitted), Sprint (3 cylinder, standard permitted)
-Chrysler: K-Car
-Dodge: Aries, Colt,
Daytona, Omni, Shadow, Spirit
-Ford: Escort, Festiva
(standard permitted), Fiesta
(standard permitted),
Mustang, Tempo, Probe
-Honda: Accord, Civic
(no V-Tec, ZC or multi-port)
-Hyundia: Elantra, Excel

-Mazda: 323, 626, GLC,

be run if first approved in writing by Track
Management
3) All glass and
flammable material must be removed with the exception of
-stock front windshields
which must also have safety clips
-stock
type driver’s seat, headrest mandatory
-full stock dash, pad
center of steering wheel
4) Battery must be in
stock location and securely fastened. Spill
proof container
recommended.
5) Fuel Tank: may be
left in stock location if stock location is ahead of the rear axle. If not, it
must be securely mounted in trunk compartment between frame rails on top of
trunk floor and not in spare tire valley. Hatchback cars require a
latching, accessible
compartment or firewall to be constructed of 22 gauge steel to house the tank
if the tank is in the trunk. All others must have full rear firewall if the
tank is in the trunk. No fuel
lines inside car. Maximum “in trunk” fuel tank capacity is seven
gallons. Fuel tank protection bars recommended. Fuel
tanks must be secure.
6) Wheels and Tires: 65,
70, 75, & 80 series DOT tires only, speed rated S or T. No racing or snow
tires. Stock OEM standard wheels only.

7) Exhaust to be stock
size pipe and is to exit anywhere behind the driver.
Muffler mandatory. All
Hondas require a non direct flow muffler, 1-1/2 inlet X 1-1/2 outlet.
8) Rear End to be stock,
no locked or posi
9) Seat Belts: 4 point
safety harness, lap & 2 shoulder belts securely mounted and in good
condition
10) Roll Cage: full roll
cage optional. Cage is not to extend beyond the cockpit area
-All cars must bolt the
doors shut and install safety bars of
1/4” X 3” flat bar or material of equal or greater 2
strength bolted tight to the body on both sides. These bars go on the widest
part of the outside of the body and must go across the doors and overlap the
front and rear fenders
by a minimum of 12” or to the wheel well opening. 3/8”
carriage bolts and large washers on
inside to be used.
-If there is no roll
cage you must install a minimum of 1 roll-over
post made of min. 1 3/4” X .095” pipe with a 6” by 6” by
3/16 thick plate welded on each end placed just behind the driver which goes
from the floor to the roof in the center of the car bolted in place. An
additional bar must be bolted or welded which runs
horizontally from the roll over post to the driver’s side of the body
to stop the seat back from going back in a hard rear impact and to fasten the
shoulder belts to.
11)
Fire Ext. must be installed within driver’s reach and be new or have
a current tag.
12) All floors,
firewalls, and inner body panels must be retained. Holes in firewall must be
filled. Must have quick release hood and trunk. From the front firewall
forward, it must be 100% stock if not listed in these rules.
13) Numbers must be on
the roof, reading from the passenger side, and
on the doors in 24” height in a contrasting color to the car. 6”
block number must be on upper right corner of the windshield.
14) No antifreeze
allowed. You may bypass the heater but the heater must be retained.
15)
Driver’s window net mandatory with 3/8” bar and quick release.
16)
Driver’s fire suit recommended but if not, long pants & a long sleeve
shirt required. Helmets must be minimum Snell 2000. Goggles, contoured
neck collar and full face helmet also recommended.
17) Electric fuel pump
cars must install kill switches on both sides of the
dash
hooked to the fuel pump and marked “KILL”.
18) Cars must have a
chain front and rear for towing purposes.
19) Consider nothing
legal because it is not in the rules.
20) All Hondas must have
150 lbs of weight located where the passenger
would normally sit.
Sunset reserves the right to add or subtract any
amount of weight to any
location on any car deemed to be too fast.
21) Claim Rule: Anyone
(including Sunset Speedway) can claim any car in
this class for $700.
Claimer to deposit $50 cash with Tech department
before any race. Balance
of cash to be paid within 5 minutes of race
finish. If claimer
changes his or her mind, $50 goes to claimee. If claimee
refuses, $50 goes back to claimer, claimee car and driver are suspended for
four race nights and they forfeit all money owed and all points to date.
22) Mild contact is
generally part of racing. In the Four Fun class it is not.
Deliberate or out of
control contact will not be allowed.
